What happens with promotion and who changes classes? Our elementary age kids promote into their grade levels for the 2024-2025 school year. The new 6th graders will promote out of kids' ministry and into the Amplify Student Ministry. Our new 3rd graders and new Kindergarteners will promote into a new grade level class since our classes are grouped as Kindergarten - 2nd grade and 3rd - 5th grade.
If my child is going into kindergarten or 3rd grade, do I need to do something before August 18th or on August 18th?
The short answer is "no". We will promote them in the system. On August 18th just select their new class from the menu at check in and help direct them to that class. We'll have extra help at check in to facilitate this and their new leaders will be watching for them.
What about the 8:00 am service time?
At present, there will not be kids' ministry classes at the 8:00 am hour.
Will kids do the same things both service times, i.e., is it the same thing twice?
Each service time will have the same Bible passage as its foundation, but it will be taught, presented, and studied in different ways each hour. Plus, at one hour our 3rd - 5th graders will use a supplemental curriculum (also from Gospel Project) that helps them focus more on spiritual disciplines. Each service time will be structured and resourced to ensure that it is centered on the gospel and is engaging for kids.
What do I need to know about check in and check out? Check in and check out is an important part of our safety and security procedures. All kids must be checked in by a parent or responsible adult. Check in opens 15 minutes prior to service time. We ask that kids be picked up within 10 minutes after the conclusion of service or fellowship groups for the good of the kids and out of respect for our volunteers. Kids must be checked out by an ADULT (or 6th GRADE or older sibling) with the matching guardian tag.
Wait, my 6th grader is going to Amplify Students, what do I need to know?
Congratulations you will have an Amplify Student! Landon Smith, Student Ministry Director, will reach out to you with more information and details. The 6th graders will join the Student Ministry Fellowship Groups (at either 9:30 or 11:00 am) on August 18th. On August 11th at 9:00 am in Kids' Ministry, we will have a quick recognition of our promoting 6th graders and the Amplify Students will come to welcome them into student ministry.
When will Kids' Ministry be offered?
Kids Ministry classes for ALL kids, babies through 5th grade, will be offered at the 9:30 am and 11:00 am service times.
Can kids attend both the 9:30 and 11:00 hours of kids' programming?
Most definitely! Simply scroll through the class selections at check in to make sure you select the class option that says both 9:30 am and 11:00 am. The leaders will then know they are staying both services.
What about babies and toddlers?
Great question. Our little ones promote based on age and a few other factors. Our Kids Ministry Director communicates with parents when their child is being considered for promotion to pave the way for a smooth transition. As with all our classes, we also tailor the activities and Bible learning to fit the ages and developmental stages of the kids in the room. Our little ones learn fundamental Bible truths with age-appropriate activities each week. We believe you are never too young to learn about God's Word and His great love.
What if my child is not involved in Kid's ministry programming?
Kids who are not checked into and participating in kids' programming during a service are asked to not come into the Family Life Center building during or after a service unless accompanied by a parent.
