For many years the founding Pastor of Lenexa Baptist Church, Steve Dighton, had prayerfully looked towards the Northland to see an ever-increasing population in need of a Bible-preaching and Gospel-driven church. As he would cast the vision to Lenexa Baptist, many faithful men and women faithfully turned their eyes to the north. On May 19, 2013, 42 people gathered with Pastor Wesley Vance in Room 227 at Lenexa Baptist to dream about launching our church. It was on that day that the seed of a movement of God began to grow.

Recognizing the movement of God in the community, The Fellowship Kansas City launched its’ first service on August 18, 2013 on the campus of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. For 3 years, The Fellowship Kansas City laid a solid biblical and evangelistic foundation for ministry at the seminary.

In November 2015, The Fellowship Kansas City was approached by South Platte Baptist Church in the Parkville, MO area about joining together to reach the Northland. After much prayer, South Platte Baptist Church was absorbed into the church. The Fellowship Kansas City relocated from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to 10 pristine acres in a growing area of Platte County previously owned by South Platte Baptist Church.

On July 10, 2022, The Fellowship Kansas City voted Pastor Tyler Wilkins as our new Senior Pastor. Pastor Tyler and his family have been members of FKC and served in various roles since 2013.

The Fellowship Kansas City continues to see tremendous growth across all generations. From new babies to new believers, The Fellowship Kansas City seeks to reach 250,000 people without Jesus in the Northland by multiplying disciples together.

Here at the Fellowship Kansas City our mission is to reach the Northland KC area with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The way we do this is by holding fast to our five foundational pillars we have established as a church. These pillars are the driving force behind all that we do here at Fellowship Kansas City.
